Vivek Awasthi is Executive Director with Uttar Pradesh Voluntary Health Association Afforestation Network at Lucknow. He is a postgraduate with 25 year of experience in conceptualizing and managing social development projects. He has expertise in budgeting, planning, execution, policy advocacy, capacity building, and team management.
His areas of working are Health (HIV & AIDS, Maternal and Child health care, Adolescent health care, Sanitation & Tobacco control), Gender Equality and Equity (Leadership Development & Gender Mainstreaming), Panchayati Raj (PRA and Decentralization), Nature Conservation (Water Conservation, Solid Waste management & Plantation), and Livelihood (Self Help Groups formation and Orientation).
He has worked with rural community and gram panchyats working on eco-friendly sustainable village development plans, also worked on rain water harvesting and recharging in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. He has developed a model colony on solid waste management in Etawah district, UP under Yamuna Action Plan-II. He has developed a segregation system and brought a sustainable change in a slum ward of city with women participation. The success story has been published in “Nirmal Neer” Magazine.
Vivek is engaged in conservation of wetlands and biodiversity across the state of Uttar Pradesh.
